Avatar-based Social Networking Sites

A friend asked me if I was interested in avatar-based social networking sites today and when I immediately told her yes she then asked me why. Well, let me tell you all why I said yes to her.

I am not just very interested in avatar-based social networking sites, I am in love or you could say I'm addicted to them and an example of one I personally use on a daily basis is called IMVU. In this avatar-based social networking site, you of course choose an avatar to start out with and if you would like to make your avatar more unique that's where the money comes into play. On this site, you need what they call "credits" to buy clothing, hairstyles, eyes, skins, rooms, etc. to make your own avatar unique in its own way. However, there is a way to make your avatar even more unique and that is by becoming a VIP member on the site which basically allows you to create your own products. I can't exactly give you more information on that topic because I myself am not a VIP member and I personally chose not to because I did not want to pay monthly for a membership when my job at Abercrombie & Fitch does not exactly give me consistent hours each week. Although, I will admit that I am a member to the site but a different kind, the kind that's only for eighteen year olds and up. My membership is called access pass which most IMVU players refer to as AP since the access pass products are initialed with a hot pink box with white lettering of just AP. I love this site because it allows me to escape my harsh reality and take refuge in a place that I created for myself, I get to be whoever and whatever I want to be, and I get to surround myself with those who I actually like to be around rather than be forced to talk to certain people. IMVU is my fantasy world and I will admit that I am addicted to this site but I think anyone who has a stressful home environment like mine would become addicted to something of this kind that allowed them to escape into a world where they could be themselves, say what they want to say right when they want to say it, do what they want to do when they want to do it, and etc. Another reason why I may also like this site is also because of the unique and so "out there" clothing styles within the game. I personally love fashion which is why if you saw me in person you would notice that everyday my style is different. Some days I wear preppy or punk/edgy clothes and other days I wear gothic or athletic, I am unpredictable and that's just how I like it. I'm going to drop the subject of fashion now because I can go on for a very long time just talking about it. Back to IMVU. I totally love that game and would strongly suggest everyone to just try it out for one day to see if it's for you. If it turns out you don't like it then so be it but if you do end up liking it then please add me on there. My name on the game is Nightfire426 and I am willing to help anyone who joins the game due to my blog. I can leave you with this one thought. If you are a lover of the game called Sims especially Sims 3 then you will totally love IMVU, that is if you don't mind paying the extra buck to get the stuff you want. Well, thank you for your time. I hope I didn't waste it.

Yours Truly,

Kay
